As we’ve said before, just by having a Facebook fan page, it doesn’t mean that Facebook users will “like” it right away or even interact on the page – a new study by Visibli analyzed over 200 million Facebook Fans to determine their engagements across different Fan Page types. The results, some very interesting and surprising, provide great insight on some ways that you can increase engagement on your Facebook Fan Page.
Here are some of the findings:
- Facebook posts receive 50% of their “likes” in the first 80 minutes, 80% in the first 7 hours and 95% within 22 hours. Tip from Visibli CEO Saif Ajani:” If you want to maximize your exposure, you should post every hour and 20 minutes.”
- Artists’ Facebook posts receive twice as many “likes” as posts from media organizations, but media organizations receive twice as many comments on their Facebook posts as artists and five times as many as brands.
- Audi has the most engaged fans – each post receives over 225 “likes” per 100 thousand fans.
- As the number of fans of Facebook Pages increase, engagement levels decrease. Basically, fans that “like” a page later are less engaged than the ones that “liked” it earlier.
The chart below from Visibli depicts the percentage of Facebook “likes” over time.
