For those of you that grew up in the 1980s, if you were like many children of that decade, you hold near and dear to your heart the “Choose Your Own Adventure” book series. The series brought mystery and adventure into our lives in a whole new way. The books were extremely popular, selling more than 250 million copies and were translated into 38 different languages, but regrettably the fad died out and the series went into “out-of print” status in 2003.
No need to panic though, because a more modern form of these books is taking trend, especially in social media marketing. As we all know, videos and audio elements amp up the post value within a blog post or on your website, so why not make the videos a little more interactive?
Tipp-Ex, a brand of correction fluid and related products that is popular throughout Europe, jumped on board with interactive videos with their campaign “A Hunter Shoots A Bear.” It’s seen tremendous success with nearly 15 million views thus far. Mashable.com recently said in an article that both Samsung and Rogers are also testing out interactive videos in their marketing initiatives.
